Many of the children and youth we represent leave their homes with no belongings, including comfort items. Those who are fortunate enough to bring some of their belongings with them typically are given garbage bags to carry their personal belongings.
The Pieceful Project is 100% supported by volunteers who donate their time and talent to piece together and create quilted duffle bags and quilts for our clients who are in foster care and group care settings, such as youth shelters. The quilts are pieced together with kindness, care and love. The hope is to bring some peace and comfort to the children we represent with these items. A quilt is a hug our children can keep and make them feel valued.
We appreciate the zealous advocacy and dedication of Off the Rails Quilting & Yarn Nook for their tremendous support of this project. If you are interested in donating a duffle bag or quilt, please contact Hannah at Off the Rails Quilting & Yarn Nook. We are overwhelmed by the generosity shown so far by the quilting community--there were close to 100 duffle bag kits purchased in just four days!!
We are grateful to the quilters who have already generously donated their time and talents to this project. Thank you.
