Who We Are

Youth Law Center Staff

Angela Bohnenkamp

Angela M. Bohnenkamp joined the Youth Law Center in January of 2025. Angela graduated from University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2004, and later decided to take a leap of faith, as a non-traditional student, and embark on a mid-life career change. She graduated from Drake Law School in 2022, as a single parent of a small child. While at Drake Law school, Angela represented juveniles as a student attorney in the Drake Children’s Legal Clinic.  During her final year of law school, she also worked as a student prosecutor in the Polk County Attorney’s Office, in criminal court, and was co-counsel on a felony jury trial. Angela worked for a short time in private practice specializing in medical malpractice and personal injuries. While in private practice she also took court appointments through the State Public Defender’s Office. While taking both criminal and juvenile appointments, she discovered a passion for advocating juvenile justice and was thrilled to be asked to join the Youth Law Center.
