Jami Hagemeier

Jami J. Hagemeier joined the Youth Law Center in  January 2022 and is currently the Executive Director.  Jami graduated from Iowa State University in 2000 and Drake Law School in 2003.  While at Drake, she was certified in their legislative practice program and also received her master’s degree in Public Administration.  Jami has represented children, parents and intervenors involved with the juvenile court system since 2003.  Jami has previously held different roles at the Drake Law School by serving as the Interim Director of the Joan & Lyle Middleton Center for Children’s Rights, Director of the Reintegration Advocacy Project and supervising attorney of the Incarcerated Parent Representation Program.   Jami was the managing partner at Williams & Hagemeier until May 2020 then started Hagemeier Law, P.L.C.   Jami consults for the national non-profit organization Zero to Three-Infant Toddler Court Teams.  Jami is a member of Iowa State Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association and Polk County Women Attorneys Association.  She is also a Casey Family Foundation Permanency Roundtable Facilitator Instructor, a family/probate law mediator and a trained parenting coordinator.
